You're probably thinking about next year's budget. Programmatic decisions and commitments are looming, yet there is a great deal of uncertainty about resources.  You're following the news about the current financial turmoil, and chances are you've been hearing from donors and corporations and foundations that things are going to be different next year.  How can you plan in this environment? What are the risks involved with programmatic and financial decisions in a volatile economy?  How do you manage this risk?

PCMI is hosting a full-day workshop to help you create your "A," "B," and "C" plans. Facilitated by Emil Angelica of Community Consulting Group of Minneapolis, the workshop is designed to be a hands-on planning session for executive  management/board teams – the program is most useful when at least two persons from an organization participate.  It will sketch out a process for developing contingencies, creating metrics, using information about the external environment, and introducing scenarios to trustees. Participating organizations will leave with plans in-hand.

Organizations that complete the workshop will also be eligible for a specialized engagement with a Business Volunteer for the Arts to help facilitate and implement the planning process.

"So What's Plan B" is the first of a series of programs designed to respond to the current economic environment sponsored and coordinated by a consortium of four organizations that support the arts: the Arts & Business Council, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, the Nonprofit Finance Fund, and the Philadelphia Cultural Management Initiative.

Interested organizations should RSVP immediately, as space is very limited. Again the program is most useful for a team of executive leadership and trustees.
